Dave
Axam,

With
over 23 years experience in the communication industry in a wide
range of roles Dave has amassed an extensive knowledge in
communications services from a technical, market and commercial
perspective.
For
the last 10 years Dave has led product teams in BT developing new
services and managing existing services in-life. These services
ranged from ICT where he led the development of BT’s corporate
storage services to traditional telephony where Dave ran the UK PSTN
voice products. Recently Dave accepted a new role in BT to develop
BT’s Future Voice services, this role enables Dave to blend his
knowledge of ICT, in particular VoIP, with extensive knowledge of
the traditional telephony services and markets.
Dave’s
team has development responsibility for a wide range of Future Voice
services such as BT Communicator, BT Broadband Voice, BT Calling
Features and BT Text as well as the development remit to expand this
portfolio.

Joel
Bernstein, partner, Halprin Temple, USA
Joel
Bernstein is a partner with the Washington, DC law
telecommunications law firm Halprin Temple, practicing legislative
and communications law. He
provides counsel on telecommunications legislation pending before
the U.S. Congress and represents clients interested in the
legislative process. He
also represents clients before the U.S. Federal Communications
Commission.
Joel
has served as the Yellow Pages Association (YPA) Washington counsel
for the past twelve years. Joel
and Halprin Temple represent a wide range of U.S. and international
telecommunications clients, including local exchange carriers,
wireless carriers, directory publishers, telecommunications
manufacturers, and Internet companies.
Prior
to working at Halprin Temple, Joel worked in the U.S. Congress and
interned at the U.S. Federal Communications Commission.
He received his law degree in Communications Law from the
University of California at Los Angeles (UCLA) in 1988 and his
undergraduate degree from Colgate University in 1985. |

Dominique
Bouchet, Professor of
International Marketing, University
of Southern Denmark, DK
Professor Bouchet, a French-born
economics graduate from the Sorbonne, has held his present post in
Denmark since 1992, a rather significant point in his career. That
same year he was awarded the Danish Business Association’s prize
for marketing research and just four months later the French Prime
Minister nominated him Chevalier in the "Ordre des Palmes
Académiques".
Professor Bouchet’s main research
interest is in social change and cultural differences and he relates
this to the cultural dimension in international marketing and
management. An acknowledged expert in this field, he has lectured in
universities across the world, from the USA to China, Japan and
Brazil, from Scandinavia to Spain, and from Belgium to the Sorbonne
and Grenoble in France.
He is the author of books in seven
languages and is the book review editor of the international,
interdisciplinary journal Consumption, Markets & Culture (CMC),
published by Routledge. |

Andrew Day has been the CEO of
World Directories since January 2005.
World Directories
has a strong portfolio of Yellow Pages companies in seven countries
and was acquired by Private Equity Companies Apax and Cinven in
November 2004.
Prior to this appointment,
Andrew was the CEO of Sensis, Australia's predominant
directories business, where he spent the last five years shaping
and implementing a
new strategy for Sensis which has transformed Sensis into
a high growth and
diversified local advertising company.
Prior to joining Sensis, Andrew
had over 20 years experience with Telstra, Australia's
leading Telecommunications company most recently as Managing
Director Sales and
Customer Service, targeting both the consumer and SME sectors.

Friedhelm
Dommermuth, Head of Department,
Regulatory Authority for
Telecommunications and Posts, DE
Mr Dommermuth has been the Head of
Department in the Regulatory Authority for Telecommunications and
Posts since April 2001. In this capacity, he is responsible for basic
economic principles; cost analyses and tariff comparisons; market
observation, delimitation and dominance issues; consumer protection;
numbering; and basic Internet economy issues.
He graduated as an economist and first
entered government employment in 1986, first with the Federal Ministry
of Economics, later with the Federal Republic’s Permanent
Representation at the OECD and finally, in January 1991, at the
Federal Ministry of Posts and Telecommunications, before he moved to
the Regulatory Authority in 1998.
In his successive posts at the Ministry
of Posts and Telecommunications, Mr Dommermuth was responsible for
tariff, cost and discrimination issues at Deutsche Telekom; then for
the regulation of monopoly and mandatory services in the postal
sector; and finally for special network access and interconnections.

Euromonitor
plc is the leading international publisher of marketing information and
statistical databases with operating subsidiaries based in London,
Chicago, Singapore, Shanghai and Vilnius.
As
ex-president of the EADP, Trevor Fenwick is closely involved with public affairs
activities affecting directory and database publishers in Europe and
is a member of the UK Advisory Panel on Public Sector Information.

Tomas
Franzén, President and CEO, Eniro AB, SE
Mr Franzén was appointed President and
CEO in June 2004. He is also President of Eniro Sverige AB and a board
member of companies engaged in a variety of fields. They include BTS
AB, management consultants; Trust2You AB, consultants in information
security; and OEM International AB, automation specialists with units
throughout Scandinavia, Italy, Netherlands, Poland and the UK. He is
also Chairman of Grin AB, a computer games company.
After graduating with a Master of
Science education degree from the Technical University of Linköping,
Mr Franzén began his business career with Nokia Data AB in 1989 and
later moved to ICL Data AB, first as Business Manager and later as
Director of Sales. Prior to his appointment at Eniro he was the
President an CEO of two companies which were subsequently sold:
AU-System AB, which was sold to Teleca and Song Networks Holding AB,
which was sold to TDC .

Kakuschky, CIO of Nikotel Inc. and CEO of Econo Deutschland, DE
Mr
Kakuschky is the founder and CEO of Econo Deutschland GmbH, a
telecommunications service provider operating the European facilities
of Nikotel inc. which has its headquarters in San Diego, USA.
He has been active with Nikotel since 2001.
Nikotel, a pioneer in the VoIP market, is developing SIP-based
VoIP solutions for retail and business customers.
Five
years earlier, Mr Kakuschky was the founder of Elbe Net, an Internet
service provider offering network, database and application
programming, as well as other ISP services and consultancy.

Laurie
Kaye,
lawyer specialising in media, intellectual property,technology and
e-business law, GB
Laurence was one of the first lawyers in the UK to specialise in
Internet law and is recognised in “Chambers Guide to the UK Legal
Profession, 2005” as a leader in the fields of Media &
Entertainment & Information Technology law.
In addition to his transaction-based work, Laurence also advises a
number of media industry bodies on digital media and e-commerce legal
issues, including the European Publishers Council, the Publishers
Association and the Directory Publishers Association. His recent work
in this area has covered:

• The E-Commerce Directive
• The new Legal Deposit Libraries Act.
Laurence is joint chairman of the Society for Computer & Law's

Toon
LOWETTE, Founder
of Grid Electronic Publishing Consultancy, BE
After obtaining a degree in Applied Economic Sciences from Antwerp
University, Toon Lowette has been in the media business for 30
years. He started as a journalist at De Krant in 1975, then later was
the economics editor at Knack Magazine, the leading Flemish news
weekly. For nine years up to 1991 he was with the De Standaard
newspaper group, where he created and managed the electronic
information delivery department, Editel.
In July 1991 he created
his own GRID Electronic Publishing Consultancy in Brussels, which has
enjoyed a wide client base.
He has worked as an
expert on several EU Commission programmes, including the ESPRIT
projects, and also for the Belgian Department of Justice and the
telecom regulatory body BIPT. His telecom clients include Belgacom,
KPN Netherlands and Portugal Telecom, whilst he has advised BBL,
Dexia, Fortis and the Associazione Bancaria Italiana among other
banks.
In publishing, Mr
Lowette has been adviser to Financieel Economische Tijd, Lannoo,
Reuters and, for many years, to EADP's annual spring conference.

Allan

Allan has been

publishing industry. Most recently, Russell was President/CEO of
Dorland Healthcare Information, a venture capital-backed database
information company serving the healthcare industry. Prior to that,
Russell was Vice President of what is now a division of American
Lawyer Media.
Russell was earlier Group President at North American
Publishing Company, where he was responsible for development and
launch of its media information and graphic arts industry
databases. Russell has also been a staff consultant at AT&T, and
an editor at Thomas Publishing Company.
Russell is the founder Morgan-Rand, Inc. a publishing and
consultancy firm serving the yellow pages and specialty directory
markets. Russell is the author of Directory
Publishing: A Practical Guide, which is now in its fifth
edition, and InfoCommerce: Internet Strategies for Database
Publishers. |

Leo Reif is a Vice President of Credit
Suisse First Boston in the Media & Telecom Group, based in London. He
has been focused on the media and telecom sectors for the past 6 years and
has worked on a broad range of assignments for European clients. Mr Reif
has specific coverage responsibility for the directory sector.
Mr Reif previously worked at Morgan Stanley
and Rothschild.He is a Chartered Accountant with degrees in business and
law from the Universities of Pretoria and South Africa respectively. Mr
Reif holds an MBA from INSEAD.

Mr Sasportes provides
consultancy chiefly in the technology, media and telecom
sectors. He has assisted clients on internet strategy,
introduction of new products, mergers and acquisitions and post
merger management. He has been a consultant to leading
European directory publishers, helping them with strategy issues,
organization, sales, BtoB and direct marketing. He has also
helped Private Equity firms to acquire European directory
operations.
Mr Sasportes started his career with France Telecom, first in New
York and later as a regional sales manager in France. He spent
four years with McKinsey & Company and then for three years
managed the French direct marketing services and BtoB directory
group Sysmark-Bottin. He holds an MBA from INSEAD.

Robert
Schischka, Joint Managing Director, nic.at, AT
Robert Schischka has been joint
managing director of nic.at since September 2003 and is responsible
for the techincal operation of the business. He is also
managing director of enum.at at the Austrian ENUM-Registry.
Within the general information
technology area, his professional focus is on IT strategy, IT
architecture and infrastructre and, not least, on IT security.
In this latter filed he gained many years with the international IT
consultancy, CSC.
In his business studies at the University of Vienna, Mr. Schischka
had already specialised in commercial information technology and
controlling.
