The Young Mobil Target Groups

My presentation will cover the Internet, technology and mobile phones.  My employer, NOP Family, is part of a larger research group called NOP World.  In an effort to understand children’s Internet habits, we completed a syndicated survey called KidsNet, for which we spoke to 1 000 children between the ages of 7 and 16.  For mobile usage, we conducted the Mkids survey on the same sample base.  Globally, NOP World studies adult and teenager Internet and mobile usage trends.

I.             Children’s Attitude Toward Technology

Our study questioned young people in the United States, Western Europe, Asia, Africa and the Middle East.  As the early adapters of new technology, children possess a real hunger for new technology and devices.  As it just represents another part of their world, children are usually less cynical about technology.  In my experience, children are more capable than adults in the working of household electrical equipment.  Being unaware of the limitations of technology, they often stretch technology to its limit and demand that it work for them.

On a daily basis, technology fulfils many roles.  In an average teenager’s room, one finds a television, radio and computer.  Usually, they are focused on media’s entertainment value.  In terms of entertainment and education, they receive an enormous amount of information from television and the Internet.  By nature children are impatient and expect immediate results, which suits the Internet’s capabilities.
