European Directories releases Augmented Reality applications for Mediatel

With the explosion of the mobile Internet, European Directories has been investing significantly in its mobile portfolio of services, including mobile adapted websites as well as iPhone, Android, and Java applications for all its operating countries. In January, European Directories announced the release of the latest addition to its mobile products – two augmented reality applications for Mediatel in the Czech Republic and Slovakia. The new applications are based on the Layar augmented reality browser platform (http://layar.com/), run on iPhone 3GS and Android devices, and will provide cutting edge directory search services by allowing consumers to better understand their surroundings while on the go. European Directories recruits Ben Legg, Google's COO for Europe

Before joining Google, Ben Legg was Vice President of Sales for Coca-Cola’s operations in India and prior to this Commercial Director for Coca Cola in Poland. Ben will take on direct responsibility for three of the European Directories’ country operations as well as for groupwide initiatives that will continue to drive the continuing transformation of the company from a predominantly print based directory business to a multi-media lead generation business.

Wed, 13/01/2010 - 23:47. Member newsEniro is concentrating advertising sales for the Swedish Yellow Pages (Gula Sidorna) and eniro.se in Sweden into one sales organization to strengthen customer relations and enhance efficiency. In conjunction with this, a surplus of about 60 employees will occur.
In accordance with the strategy of transforming Eniro from print dependency to online opportunity, the company´s offering and product mix are changing. As part of this change process, Eniro is discontinuing the use of two sales teams in Sweden and, as of February, will operate on the basis of a joint sales team for the directory Gula Sidorna and eniro.se. The sales unit for these brands will sell combined packages that encompass all of Eniro´s distribution channels and focus on selling searchability, visibility and leads.
