EADP has celebrated its 40th anniversary on September 28, 2006 EADP launched its new logo during the ceremony Speech of Mr José Manuel Barroso - President of the European Commision (video) - Chairman and CEO of IMPRESA, S.G.P.S., a holding company with majority positions in the Controljornal Group (newspapers, magazines, printing, distribution, advertising,), and in S.I.C. Television Group. Member of the Steering Committee of the Bilderberg Meetings. - Chairman of the European Publishers Council. Patron of Fondación Carolina (Madrid). - Member of the Board of Directors of Daily Mail and General Trust plc. - Member of the Board of the International Advisory Board of Grupo Santander. - Professor (1987-2002) of Communication Science at the New University of Lisbon (Universidade Nova de Lisboa) - President (1990-1999) of the Board of Governors of the European Institute for the Media - Member (1999-2003) of the Business Steering Committee of the Global Business Dialogue - member of the High Level Group on Future Audiovisual Policy (1997) - Vice President (1995-2003) of Fondation Journalistes en Europe (Paris) and non executive member of the Board of Celbi Portugal (Stora-Enso). He was one of the three founders (in 1974) of the Popular Democratic Party (PPD, latter renamed Social Democratic Party (PSD). In 1980 he was Minister of State. From 1981-83, Mr. Balsemão was Prime Minister of Portugal and President of PSD. He has been elected a member of the Portuguese Parliament several terms. He is a member of the National Council of PSD. In May 2005 he was elected member of the State Council.He is Chairman of Allianz Portugal and Nec Portugal, Chairman of the Advisory Board of Banco Privado Português, member of the General Council of Associação Empresarial Portuguesa.
