The European Regulators Group launched a consultation on his draft Work Programme for 2006
The European Regulators Group launched, September 30th, a consultation on his draft Work Programme for 2006. This provides an opportunity for all stakeholders to better understand the direction the ERG is planning to take and to comment on the priorities and work items it has identified.
The work programme is organised around three items:
- Review of the regulatory framework for electronic communications and networks. This concerns, among others, the review of the Universal Service Directive including its scope.
- Technical and markets developments. This work will concentrate on three main areas: Broadband, VoIP and Next generation networks. Concerning VoIP, it will consider the consumer aspects in relation to VoIP, including such issues as cross border issues, emergency services, quality aspects, security aspects and billing.
- Practical implementation issues.
Answers to the consultation are to be sent by October 21st.
