The European Commission wants to clear up matters on aid regime in favour of the editorial sector in Italy and has opened an examination procedure for that. In particular, it will check the "marginal effects" that can occur. In Italy,public aid can be granted in the form of tax credit, of interest payments for financial projects,and can concern not only newspapers and magazines but also mutlimedia, radio, television and printing companies.
