Belgian mobile services revenues down by 9%.
Telecompaper writes that revenues of Belgian mobile operators declined by 9.1% from a year earlier in the first quarter of 2013. In that time they generated EUR 789 million in service revenues. The same as elsewhere in Europe, the market contraction was due to lower voice revenues, following regulatory cuts to termination rates.
Apple’s next operating system to offer more social integration
In the upcoming overhaul of its iPhone, iPad, and iPod touch operating system, iOS 7, Apple plans to include an increased presence of third-party social networks, including Flickr and Vimeo, according to a person familiar with the software.
Apple’s iPhone loosing a little of its popularity
More customers are satisfied with Apple's phones than any other handsets, but they're not as happy as they were last year, a new report said. According to an American Customer Satisfaction Index report, Apple received a score of 81 (on a scale of 100) in terms of customer satisfaction.
Mozilla’s default privacy patch on hold
Back in February, Mozilla upset many in the digital ad industry when it unveiled plans to include a default setting that disables third-party cookies in the Firefox browser.
UK online sales grew by 16%
The IMRG Capgemini e-Retail Sales Index recorded the a rise in UK online sales of 16%, compared to last April. Mobile commerce also continued to grow during the period, up by 131% year-on-year. The figures also show pureplay traders benefiting from a stronger lift than their multichannel rivals, continuing a trend detected last year.
Conversational search comes to the desktop
Conversational search, using your voice is already a reality. Google has such an application for its Android and iOS apps , but now conversational search would be coming to the desktop within the Chrome browser, Google announced. Until now, you could search for things using your voice…but you couldn’t ask questions.
Smartphones and tablets need different ad approaches
According to an industry analysis by Adobe Digital Index, mobile devices have changed the way consumers interact with businesses, making an understanding of the trends, strengths, and weaknesses of both tablets and smartphones important in serving mobile customers. In just three years, says the report, tablets have overtaken smartphones in the amount of traffic they drive.
