The EU Telecommunications package brought equal and transparent access to subscriber data for any publisher.  These data therefore became a commodity on the basis of which any publisher may now publish directories of whatever kind.  The PSI Directive will open up public registers for commercial reuse (eg. trade registers).  Again these data will be a "commodity" for publishers, so if the "raw data" are the same for all publishers - how then to differentiate.

Sprenger, Germany's top management guru, will give a keynote address at the EADP congress.  His theme, "the Rise of the Individual" ask why so little is changing, when we have supposedly accepted that the individual is the main agent of change in the business. A fundamentally new approach to management, which focuses on the individaul as an essential part of the corporation.
